We have been struggling with getting Addie to eat lately. I know I did it wrong from the beginning- when she started eating solids, I should've given her everything we were eating... instead she ate mac and cheese, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza, and lasagna (or spaghetti). Now those foods are ALL she will eat. We serve her what we eat now, but many nights she ends up throwing a temper tantrum, throwing food on the floor, and not even trying the foods in front of her. I'm a softy when it comes to all of this because I don't want her to go hungry, but I've been trying to be consistent with it. Some nights she doesn't eat dinner and goes to be without a snack. Is that ok? I know we're not the only ones who've gone through this. Any suggestions?

totally ok. nora is a brat lately about eating - not only picky but just doesn't want to. i will only offer her the one thing i made for her. she will go for a few days without a meal in her (she still drinks about 20 oz of whole milk and snacks on string cheese & crackers) and then she'll flip a switch and just start eating again. you are a super good momma! don't worry on this too much :)

Like my dad always says, "Kids won't starve themselves!" I've gone through this with all three. We started with Miles the same way you started with Addie. He was (and still is at times!) the hardest to break of these habits. Good for you for starting now... she'll grow out of this stage. I'm sure that part of it is that she's realizing that she has choices...and a voice.
