Baby is 5 pounds as of last Friday! She is still breech... what can ya do. The nurse also said she has a big head. I told her that was from the baby's father. She informed me that I should've checked that out before I started dating him ;) Anyway... things are good!

I know it's been a while... I had another appointment today. To my disbelief, Little Sorbs is still breech! She's been breech for the last 4 ultrasounds, but I could've bet my life on the fact that she had flipped around this week and wasn't breech. I guess I was wrong. Her head is at my upper left side, her butt is down, and her feet are at my upper right side- so she's in a 'V' position. I guess that makes sense since I have been feeling her kick up by my right rib. Anyway, pray that she flips. I'm almost 33 weeks, and at 36 weeks they said if she's still breech we'll have to talk about scheduling a c-section. Since I'm on a blood thinner, they will want me to deliver before 39 weeks- so very beginning of June, it's sounding like- and they want it scheduled, so it is more controlled. If she flips, they will let me go full term. I know it's not a big deal, and I know a lot of women have c-sections, but it just makes me more nervous. So that's the baby news. Brandt and I are both doing well :-) I have a shower tomorrow that I'm really looking forward to! Until next time...

Our Spring Break is over :( It wasn't exactly relaxing, but we got a lot accomplished. Here are some pictures of the wood floors upstairs and the rooms downstairs. Enjoy!

We had another ultrasound today. I am 30 weeks now- 10 more to go! Little Sorbs is doing well. The last two appointments she's received an 8/8 on whatever they check during our biophysical profiling tests. So she's healthy and constantly moving! My leg is doing much better than a week ago. It swells a bit still, but hasn't turned colors or felt numb all week! So nice to know those shots are doing something productive :-) Brandt has the week off and it's my Spring Break, so we are working very hard to finish the basement. We've been putting wood floors upstairs yesterday and today- it's looking very nice. The taper finishes tomorrow. Painting is Thursday, and carpet is installed on Friday. The end is near! Thanks for your continued support and prayers.

Well, we are home from the hospital! FINALLY!! It's been a long week :-) Things are good. I still have to take it pretty easy. I can be on my leg every day, but I need to sit and elevate it often. I am on Lovenox, a blood thinner, that I give myself in the form of a shot twice daily. Not the most exciting thing I have ever had to do, but I can do it. I also switched from my family practice doctor to a high risk pregnancy doctor at the hospital. I will go in weekly to have ultrasounds done on the baby to make sure she's still doing alright. They will watch the blood clot as well. I feel much better knowing I am with a doctor that specializes in this field and one that has dealt with patients in this situation before. I know the baby and I will be well taken care of. I think that's it. Thank you so much for all the support, encouraging notes, phone calls and visits, and of course PRAYER! Thank you for praying. There was a point when I didn't think I'd get to go back to work, and I start again next week! Praise the Lord! But most importantly, praise the Lord that our baby is doing fine. We love and thank you all.

Just wanted to write a quick note and ask for prayer for Steph and our little girl. Steph had to be admitted to the hospital on Friday with a blood clot in her left leg. It is fairly rare (about 2% of pregnancies) but not unheard of. She will be having a little vacation in the hospital until Wednesday or Friday. The baby is perfectly fine (still crazy in the womb) and mom feels fine too. Please pray that everything continues to heal correctly and pray for mom's spirits. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Here's my hubby in the baby's room! The dry wall went up yesterday! I'm so proud of him :-) Thanks to Uncle John and "Grandpa" Dale for all of their help. They got a lot accomplished!

I'll be 25 weeks this week. Little Sorbs is about 1 1/2 pounds and 12 inches crown to toe! I was reading that structures of the spine begin to form this week as well as blood vessels in the lungs. The nostrils open this week too! She's a busy girl :-) My uterus is the size of a soccer ball- I definitely see the changes... my stomach is becoming more round. She moves and kicks all the time. It's never hard enough to wake me up at night or anything, but it's fun to feel her moving constantly. Our doctor appointment went well this last week. Brandt is working hard on the basement- he has about 15 weeks to get her room done!! No pressure...

Ok... Here's an update for those that have requested :-) Our baby girl is doing fine. She kicks all the time! Brandt finally felt her kick- it was exciting to be able to share that together! Her "awake" time, besides after I eat, is between 8:30 and 9:00 PM every night. She kicks like crazy then. So fun! I have been feeling great! I have a ton of energy. I know I need to take it all in now, because that will probably change once I get into my 3rd trimester. Right now we are 23 weeks along. We have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday. That's about it! We are asking for continued prayer for the health of the baby and that the basement gets finished in 16 more weeks :-) Yikes!

Well... the verdict is in with 90% certainty (good enough for me). Drum roll please... IT'S A GIRL!!! My mom wants me to be humble about it, but it's so hard to be right all the time. We'll post some of the ultrasound pictures later. Pink it is!

Here's the final tally before we head off to the wonderful world of ultrasounds:

Boy: 14 Girl: 5

We'll see how it all shakes down, and if it doesn't... I'll be right and we have 14 wrong guesses. If anyone got that joke, please give me a little lol or something. Until later today...

Well, the big day is next Wednesday! We have an ultrasound Wed. the 31st at 7:00AM. We would like to take a poll to see what YOU GUYS think Little Sorbs is. Boy or Girl? Brandt thinks girl... Steph thinks boy... You know, a mother's intuition is always right... right!? But Brandt isn't wrong very often. He has a big head :-) Cast your vote before next Wednesday!

Hey all! I am about 18 1/2 weeks along. Little Sorbs is doing well, as far as I know. I have felt the baby move around quite a bit this last week. It feels like little butterflies. Usually after I eat, I will lay down and that's when I feel it best. How fun! Only about 3 more weeks until our ultrasound. Crazy how time flies :-) Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers.

We had another doctor's appointment tonight. Everything is going well. Little Sorb's heartbeat was 150 beats per minute. We are a little over 16 weeks. The baby is about 5 inches long! I read that in the next three weeks, the baby will double in weight and add inches to his/her length. We go back in four weeks and at that time we schedule an ultrasound appointment. So in about 5 weeks we'll know if it's a boy or girl. I'm feeling great- trying to exercise a bit more now that I'm home for the holiday break. I got a preggo work-out video for Christmas. Sounds corny... but I love it! Over the next couple of weeks I've been told I will start to feel the baby move. I'll keep you updated :)

Little Sorbs is 14 weeks old! He/she is about 3 1/2 inches long. My tummy is starting to jut out a bit. Had to buy some new jeans this weekend :) Still feeling great! 6 weeks until we find out if it's a boy or girl! It's coming fast!!

Thursday, November 30, 2006

We just had our second doctor's appointment. We are a little over 12 weeks and we heard the heartbeat tonight!! It was 160 beats per minute :-) Dale, Brandt's dad, is convinced that means it's a girl! It was such an amazing thing- she placed the doppler device on my stomach and immediately we heard the heart. So cool! It's so nice to have confirmation :-) This week Little Sorbs will be almost 3 inches long and will weigh about 0.8 ounces. Crazy! As for me... I'm feeling great and gaining weight- Yikes!

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

10 weeks along... Only 30 to go! Yikes! The baby is now called a "fetus." That's moving up in the world. Little Sorbs is about 1 1/4 inches long right now and develops fingernails and toenails this week. It's amazing to learn about the intriciate parts of the body that are developed right away. What an incredible thing! We are doing very well. I have been feeling great this week. Praise the Lord! An interesting fact about myself... I crave hamburgers. Big, juicy, greasy hamburgers. I would eat a hamburger every day of the week if I could. I could care less where the burger comes from, but I prefer a healthy burger from good ol' McDonald's. I ate 5 hamburgers in one week. That's a record for me :) Our next doctor's appointment is November 30th. Until then...

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

We had our first doctor's appointment tonight. All is well. I am 9 weeks today! We tried to hear the heartbeat, but didn't have any luck. I did learn that my uterus is "retroverted," or tilted backwards, so she wasn't surprised we couldn't hear the heart. We go back in three weeks to try again! Thanks for your continued prayers. We'll keep you updated!

Week 8 is complete! I was reading that the baby is starting to get fingers and toes this week. How exciting!!
